DAY 01: CUSCO – “ABRA MALAGA” – SANTA MARIA (BIKING AND RAFTING)

We will pick you up from your hotel at 06:00 am in our private transportation and we will travel for an average of four hours to reach Carrizales or San Luis where we will begin our adventure. On the way we will pass through “Abra Málaga” which is at 4,300 meters above sea level. We will go down by bike for an average of three hours to Santa María where we will have lunch. Along the way, we will see the typical vegetation of a cloud forest, appreciating coffee plantations and coca leaves, until we reach the town of Santa María where we will spend the night in a guest house.
This day in the afternoon, we will have the option of rafting for 1 hour and a half on the Vilcanota River (Class III, IV).

DAY 02: SANTA TERESA (ZIP LINE) – VILLAGE OF AGUAS CALIENTES.

AM after our breakfast, we will take our car to Santa Teresa for about 40 minutes. This morning, we will have the opportunity to do Canopy or Zip Line (monkey tail).
Then we will walk for 2 hours, we will observe coffee, coca and fruit plantations such as banana, orange, avocado, mango and we will observe some waterfalls, finally we will be able to see the mountain of Machu Picchu, then we will go to Hidroeléctrica where we will have lunch, then we will walk for 02 hours but next to the railway line until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a cozy hotel.

DAY 03: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Very early after breakfast (approximately 5:00 am) we will begin the ascent for an hour’s walk to the Inka citadel of Machupicchu, this way we can be one of the first groups inside the Inka city which will allow us to enjoy the majestic sunrise, then we will have a guided tour of the most important Inka temples and palaces within the citadel of Machu Picchu, together with your guide for approximately 02 hours, then you can explore the mysterious Inka city on your own. (Optional to climb Huaynapicchu mountain extra cost $35 USD per person).
At the appropriate time we will descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes to board our return train to Ollantaytambo and from there by car to Cusco, our average time to arrive in Cusco will be 8:00 PM, and then we will transfer you to your respective hotels.

DAY 1 – CUSCO – SANTA TERESA – HYDROELECTRIC – AGUAS CALIENTES TOWN

We will leave at 08:00am. The tour will begin with a pleasant panoramic walk towards Ollantaytambo, where we will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the area while taking a short break of 30 minutes (approx.). From there, we will continue along a long and winding road towards “Habra de Málaga”, which is located at an altitude of 4,316 meters above sea level / 14,160 feet. From that point of view, we will see some of the most incredible landscapes that Peru has to offer.
After a brief stop, we will begin our descent into the thick jungle, passing through the different microclimates that combine the paradisiacal landscapes of the majestic snow-capped peaks with the hot and tropical entrance to the rainforest. We will continue along our route until we reach Alfamayó, where there is a paved road in perfect condition that we can use. However, we will have to take an unpaved road to continue in the direction of Santa María, which is located at an altitude of 1,575 meters above sea level / 5,167 feet. We will take a moment to rest here before continuing towards the small town, Santa Teresa, where a delicious lunch will be waiting for us at approximately 2 pm. There will be a variety of foods available to suit all tastes.
Then, at approximately 3:45 pm, we will return to the route heading to the train station at the nearby hydroelectric plant. The train will have us in Aguas Calientes at 5:30 pm, at which time we will transfer you to the designated hostels and hotels. If we have extra time to spare, we can also take a relaxing bath in the natural, hot waters of the hot baths. However, at 8:00 pm, it will be time to enjoy a hearty dinner together with the guide who will take you to the ancient citadel, Machu Picchu. DAY 2 – AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – HYDROELECTRIC – CUSCO

Afterwards, you will have free time until approximately 11:30 am, which is the recommended time to begin returning from the mountain to the train station. The train back to the hydroelectric plant will leave Aguas Calientes at 12:35 pm.
Upon arrival at the hydroelectric plant, we will transfer from the train to a private van, which will take us to Santa Teresa. There, we will have a one-hour break for one last chance to get some food or use the bathroom before embarking on the final leg of the trip. Then we will return to Cusco, returning along the same path that brought us here. We will arrive in Cusco around 9:30 pm (approx.).

The tour starts picking you up from your hotel in Cusco around 4:00 am to 4:15 and heading to Ollantaytambo train station (2792 m.a.s.l/9160 ft) then. In Ollantaytambo you take the touristic tain there by 1.5 hours towards Aguas Calientes (2.040 m.a.s.l/6692 ft), also known as Machu Picchu Town.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Town, our staff will be waiting for you with a sign for your easy localization (8:00 to 8:30 am). Once we meet you, you can have breakfast (in case you haven’t eaten before). Then, we will go to the bus terminal and take the bus up to the main entrance gate of Machu Picchu.

The guided tour is on the traditional circuit and lasts 2 hours. What is the weather like during my tour?

DAY1: CUSCO – AGUAS CALIENTES

This VIP tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins at 7:30 AM. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco 10 to 15 minutes before the start of the tour. CHINCHERO: This town is located 28 km from Cusco on the paved road to Urubamba. Here you’ll find the remains of what was once the royal estate of Túpac Inca Yupanqui. MORAY: Located 7 km from Maras, an hour from the city of Cusco via the Chinchero route, this is one of the most spectacular sites featuring circular terraces of varying sizes. These terraces were used for agricultural experimentation and are considered centers of feminine energy, a magnetic center of Pachamama (Mother Earth).

MARAS SALT MINES: Located northwest of the town of Maras, these mines, sometimes called “salt mines,” consist of approximately 3,000 small pits. Salt has been harvested since pre-Hispanic times using a sun-drying system that uses saltwater from an underground stream. Once the water evaporates, the salt is ready for sale.

URUBAMBA: A magnificent area with Inca agricultural traditions, the most important being corn. Today, it boasts a beautiful countryside with abundant fruit orchards. An excellent place to enjoy our typical local buffet lunch.

OLLANTAYTAMBO: A typical Inca town located 21 km from Urubamba (2800 m above sea level). It was named in honor of the chief Ollanta, famous for his romance with an Inca princess, daughter of Pachacuti. One of its best-preserved areas extends north of the Hanan Huacaypata plaza, comprising 15 blocks of mansions built on walls of carved stone. In the vast archaeological site, located on the hill that gives the town its name, notable structures include the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana, and the Princess’s Baths. From Ollantaytambo, a dirt road ascends to the Málaga Pass (4200 m above sea level) and heads towards the Andes Mountains, passing through villages such as the picturesque Huilloc, home to the renowned Huairuro birds.

PISAC: Located 33 km from Cusco via paved road (from the Sacred Valley of the Incas). It features an ancient town, an archaeological site considered one of the most important in Cusco, and a modern town of colonial origin. This area is also home to the famous Pisac artisan market, which attracts thousands of visitors and members of the surrounding communities from remote villages, all dressed in colorful traditional clothing.

Recommended season to travel to Cusco

Although the city of Cusco is visited by tourists practically throughout the year, it is important to emphasize the two seasons or seasons that you will find.
